Abstract

Results of palaeobotanical research of two localities situated in Southern Slovakia near the town Lučenec are presented in the paper. The studied Early Miocene plant assemblages occur in the Bukovinka Formation, preserved in a layer of rhyodacite tuff. Morphological characteristics of the leaf impressions enabled identification of 26 angiosperm taxa. The plant composition indicates subtropical humid broad-leaved forest environment.

Key words: fossil macroflora, Lower Miocene, Eggenburgian, tuff, Southern Slovakian Basin
