Abstract

The study was realized in the Western Carpathians, in northern part of Slovakia, in Kysuce region. The main objective is to assess landslide hazard in the region, using a quantitative evaluation. For assessment two most used statistical analyzes had been applied: bivariate using the weights of input parameters and multivariate conditional analysis. In paper nine input parameters are evaluated which are presented within statistical processing in the form of parametric maps. Statistical evaluation was executed in environment of GRASS GIS. The output of this study are two prognostic landslide hazard maps constructed using the methods mentioned above. The results showed that the majority of the assessed area falls within the medium to very high degree of landslide hazard.
